It is Artificial Information, not Artificial Intelligence.

We need to stop confusing a massive database with a working mind.
We haven’t built a digital brain — we’ve built the world’s most efficient archive.
Here is why the “Intelligence” label is a lie:
1. The Static Trap
Biological intelligence is defined by adaptability. If you touch a hot stove, you rewire your neural pathways instantly. You learn.
AI is frozen in time.
Once a model is trained, its weights are static. If it makes a mistake, it will make that same mistake a thousand times until a human developer manually intervenes, curates data, and pushes an update.
That isn’t learning. That’s just software awaiting a patch.
2. Simulation vs. Reasoning
People point to models like o1 and say, “Look, it’s reasoning!”
It isn’t. It’s traversing a probability map of how humans have previously reasoned. It is retracing our footsteps, not forging a new path. It can emulate the process of logic, but without the intent or understanding behind it, it’s just a parrot with a better memory.
3. The Novelty Wall
Real intelligence applies old knowledge to completely new, unseen problems.
AI operates on precedent. It solves problems by identifying statistical correlations in its training data.
If an AI encounters a truly novel scenario,, one with zero correlation to the past,, it hallucinates or fails. It cannot derive first principles. It cannot “figure it out.”
We have democratized access to information on an incredible scale. That’s impressive enough.
But let’s be real about what this is:
Artificial Information.
Until a machine can rewrite its own code in response to a new stimulus without a human holding its hand, it’s just a glorified encyclopedia.
