Curious by default.

I'm Qusai. You can also call me QI.
Same letters as IQ. Different order.

How I got here

I work in privacy and GRC. Outside work, I build security tools and run AI models locally on Linux.

I have always wanted to know HOW things work. My dad is a computer engineer, which meant a lot of my questions ended with a computer taken apart, or an operating system being reinstalled. That explains a lot, actually.

I still like learning that way. And I love being in rooms where everyone thinks a little differently. Open source gives me a lot of those rooms.

I'm based in Jordan. When I'm not working, there are games, places to explore, and a slightly unreasonable interest in my computer setup.

AI Security Intern

Amman, Jordan · Internship

Local AI, sensitive data, and hardware that needed a little convincing.

  • Set up an air-gapped AI pipeline so sensitive company data could be processed without leaving the network.
  • Compiled and tuned open-source inference engines for the hardware we had, including work with ROCm.

GRC & Threat Management Intern

Amman, Jordan · Internship

My introduction to security at telecom scale: policies, vulnerabilities, and the people responsible for fixing them.

  • Wrote data-sharing and retention policies aligned with ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and Jordan's data protection law.
  • Ran vulnerability assessments and worked with data owners across departments on remediation.
  • Helped investigate security events, analyze threat intelligence, and review configurations with the threat management team.

Cloud Security, DevOps & Web Development

Remote · During university

The university years involved a lot of Linux terminals and figuring things out for real clients.

  • Set up and hardened Ubuntu servers with Fail2Ban, SSH keys, passwords and TOTP, OpenVPN, and automated backups.
  • Built Python authentication bots, managed real-time databases, and tested WordPress sites for security issues.
  • Deployed online stores on Shopify, Zid, and Salla, including payments and technical SEO.

PC Performance Optimization

Remote

Before the servers, there were gaming PCs. I cared a lot about those last few milliseconds.

  • Tuned Windows services, power plans, and settings to reduce latency.
  • Configured BIOS settings, overclocked and undervolted hardware, and stress-tested CPU, GPU, and RAM stability.
  • Tracked down driver problems and used clean installations to resolve performance issues.
