yeah, that’s real. if you look at the latest from the google threat intelligence group (gtig), the reality is scary: threat actors aren’t playing around. they are scaling up fast, and the bar for entry has never been lower.

state actors are already using AI to hunt for vulnerabilities in embedded devices and routers. cybercriminals are using generative ai to spot high-level semantic logic flaws… like the recent zero-day 2FA bypass on an open-source admin tool that traditional static scanners completely missed. they are actively building autonomous malware like PROMPTSPY and polymorphic evasion tools just to bypass detection.

AI is a massive force multiplier for them.

so what are we doing about it? instead of stepping up, a lot of companies are trying to outsource their security entirely to ROBOTS!! they are laying off people to cut costs.

this is a massive mistake.

stripping away human talent to save on payroll is a mathematical failure. yes, ai is a great tool for defenders too,, google even uses agents like Big Sleep and CodeMender to find and fix vulnerabilities automatically. but ai cannot replicate the adversarial mindset and contextual reasoning of a dedicated privacy engineer or threat hunter. models might surface dormant logic errors, but human defenders are the ones who understand the architecture, adapt to novel threats, and actually protect the network.

we need human intuition augmented by ai, not an empty SOC run by a language model.

DEAR CTOs, INVEST IN YOUR SECURITY BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.

hire more. the bar to hack has never been this low.
THERE ARE MORE THREAT ACTORS THAN EVER, and they have AI too.
